One year one hope one love
Project 4:10 is a GAP year programme organised by Greater Ballyclare Youth for Christ. We are looking for young people aged 18+ to come along and spend a year journeying with us as we seek to build God's Kingdom in Ballyclare. The year will be an intense ride with highs, lows and lots more in between. We can promise you now it won't necessarily be an easy year but it will be a year in which God can build your character, transform your heart and help you to build his Kingdom.
We operate from a drop-in centre based right in the heart of Ballyclare. Our centre had its official opening in April 2008 and we opened our doors to young people in May of the same year. It is a fantastic centre equipped with flat screen TV's, table football, Playstations and (of course!) a pool table! The centre is great and the young people love coming here, with something on every day it is literally a hive of activity! What we need however is people...people to help run the centre and be involved in our school's ministry!
We hope that through being part of Project 4:10 that you will grow, that you will be challenged and your faith will be strengthened and through it all that you will have the opportunity to change young people's lives for ever!
What will happen?
When you start any journey, it is important to be well kitted out! You wouldn't wander off into the mountains with at least some preparation and in the same way we don't want you to wander into youth ministry without some preparation - so right at the start of the year we will have a couple of weeks training in youth ministry, looking at: why we do youth ministry, how we do youth ministry, ways to engage creatively with young people, alongside training for our school's work as well.
After this training period we launch straight into the year! There will be nights of drop-in, girl's groups, guy's groups, youth alpha, romance academy, kid's clubs and lots lots more! We want to help you as you go and we want to continually invest in you! We want to see you grow through this year and so we will have different training sessions throughout the year and you will have the opportunity to steer these sessions so that they best suit you!
